Standard Monofocal Lens
Overview
A monofocal lens has one point of focus. The one point of focus will sometimes give you clear distance vision, but the down side is that you will need glasses for near and intermediate vision. However, if you have astigmatism you will need glasses for all distances. Monofocal lenses have been developed over the last 50 years, so they are extremely well manufactured, high quality and very reliable.
